We’ve just received a pair of Alba floral patterned microfibre tights from Fiore’s Golden Line courtesy of Hosiery UK and we’ve put them to the test.

While on the product’s package the floral motifs display a dark pink tone on the tights themselves the colour is indeed a dark red tone as you can see from the photographs. This might easily turn into a brighter shade of red if you’re under the appropriate lighting making them especially great to complement classy black outfits with a splash of red. The pattern is seamless all around the fabric (unlike lesser quality tights) so your legs will look awesome from every angle.

At 40 Denier these tights are almost completely opaque becoming only a little transparent around the thighs due to fabric expansion and they seem nicely built to withstand low temperatures although they can be worn throughout Spring and Autumn as well depending on where you live. They’re available in 5 different sizes and made out of 87% Polyamid and 12% Elastane which enables them to stretch nicely. The missing 1% belongs to the cotton gusset that’s available on sizes 3 and 4.

They have a really nice smooth touch and fit and even though they belong to a low price range of products costing only around 5£ they are sturdily built, made out of good quality thread and with perfect seams.

Fiore is a Polish manufacturer founded in 1998, positioning itself from the start around a mix of “Parisian chic and Italian sex appeal” while keeping prices accessible — it was also one of the first Polish hosiery producers to earn ISO 9001 quality certification, and now offers well over 100 different styles across its lines. The Golden Line these Alba tights belong to sits toward the premium end of that range, which tracks with the finish and seamless pattern-matching described above.

Our take: 40 denier is a genuinely versatile weight to know, opaque enough for most temperatures without the bulk of a heavier winter pair, which is why it’s worth checking the denier listed on any secondhand floral or patterned tights you’re considering rather than judging warmth from the photos alone. A seamless pattern like this one, that wraps the fabric without a visible repeat break at the seam, is also a good sign of overall build quality worth looking for on similar patterned pairs.
