Recently we’ve come across an UK clothing brand called Miss Patina that specializes in beautifully tailored vintage style clothing.

The most adorable items, in our opinion, are the 60s inspired dresses that look gorgeous when matched with opaque wool or cotton tights such as the grey ones that they use throughout many the photos displayed on their online catalogue. We really like the attention given to the settings and ambience of the photos taken to display their products which really strengthens their brand. More than just the products they accomplish to sell this whole aura of whimsical cuteness that is really adorable.

The pleated skirts and tartan patterns transpire a cosy British countryside look which can also be combined with opaque solid colored dark blue or burgundy tights for an autumn leaf crunching stroll through your local park or a visit to grandmother’s house for a cup of scalding hot tea and gingerbread biscuits by the fireplace. Miss Patina was founded in 2009 by Holly Wang, a London College of Fashion graduate, and has grown well beyond a small online shop since then — the brand now sells through more than 100 stockists worldwide, including Topshop concessions, alongside its own site at misspatina.com. Wang has described the label as an outlet for her love of British culture, art, nature and, famously, cats, which shows up regularly in the prints and motifs across collections.

Our take: opaque wool or cotton-blend tights in muted solid colours like grey, burgundy or navy are exactly the kind of pieces worth building a small capsule legwear collection around, since they work across seasons and pair with almost anything without competing for attention the way a patterned pair would.
