Pantyhose Review

A quick note before diving in: Yirane sent these samples for an independent review, with no requirement of a positive writeup, and that is exactly how this one is approached, worn and judged the same way anything else on this site is. The box arrived with size XL in Cocoa Brown, Light Nude, Black and Burgundy, plus the Control Top version in Cocoa Brown and Black. Both Cocoa Brown and Burgundy got real wear, everyday and dressier, over several days. Here is what actually held up.

What They Are

80D matte opaque tights, positioned by the brand as an everyday staple rather than a special-occasion pair. 100% opaque coverage, a non-dig waistband, and a price point around $9 on Amazon. Yirane’s own pitch is that they hold up through a full day, commuting, sitting, walking, and layer cleanly under dresses, coats and boots for fall and winter. That framing checks out.

Fit and Comfort

True to size at XL, no need to size up or down. The waistband held up the way the brand claims: comfortable through a full day with no digging in by evening, even sitting down for hours at a time. The fabric itself is the nicer surprise, a soft, velvety feel rather than the slightly plasticky hand some opaque tights have at this price. Opacity holds up too: fully opaque and consistent in color across both legs, no patchiness or sheerness at the knee or thigh the way thinner or cheaper tights tend to show.

Styling Notes

Burgundy got worn for dressier looks, under a skirt with boots and a coat rather than everyday trousers. It reads close to wine or oxblood, and both tones are flattering in a way that leans a little sexy without trying too hard, Burgundy in particular feels like the obvious pick with a black skirt and boots.

Control Top and Durability

Cocoa Brown is the easier of the two to wear often, a true warm neutral that pairs with camel, cream and black the same way a nude tight does, just with more depth for cooler months, and it got worn as an everyday pair. The Control Top version (also tested in Cocoa Brown) gives a light, noticeable-but-not-dramatic amount of shaping, with the panel sitting high, up around the ribs rather than stopping at the natural waist. No rolling or sliding during wear, and the nylon feels sturdier and more resistant than it looks, nothing snagged or ran over several days of normal wear.

The Verdict

Clearly worth the $9.99. True to size, a waistband that actually does not dig, and opacity that matches the claim on the label, which is three things a lot of budget tights get wrong. No real caveats here: good for daily wear, good for layering, and the price makes it easy to keep more than one color in rotation.
